Dancing on the Hillside
The golden morning spilled over the hills
Filling the valley with light
Kaldi the goatherd walked down through the mountains
With a small flock of goats by close his side
And the next thing he knew, those goats started jumping
And Kaldi the goatherd, he didn't know why
And that's when he saw them, these tiny red berries
His goats they'd been eating 'em from a bush nearby
And that's why those goats, they were
Dancing on the hillside, dancing on the hillside
Dancing on the hillside in the morning sun
He saw his goats a'jumping, having all kinds of fun
So he walked up to that berry bush and said I'll try try one
And then the morning sun started singing out a song
And before he knew it, his toe started tapping along
And then he was...
Dancing on the hillside, dancing on the hillside
Dancing on the hillside in the morning sun
Kaldi took these magic berries up into the town
And he told the local monks about his goats acting strange
The monks said these are evil, and threw the berries in the fire
Where those berries turned brown as they burned in the flames
So those berries started roastin, and an aroma filled the air
So a monk scooped out some berries into some water he had there
The smell was overwhelming, and everyone came out to see
This strange, new magic brew it all its mystery
One monk took a great big gulp, and said hey I feel young
And before he knew it his toe started tapping along
Then they all were
Dancing on the hillside, dancing on the hillside
Dancing on the hillside in the morning sun
Dancing in the morning sun
Filling the valley with light
Kaldi the goatherd walked down through the mountains
With a small flock of goats by close his side
And the next thing he knew, those goats started jumping
And Kaldi the goatherd, he didn't know why
