Middle School
You walk down the hall
It's your first day of class
And you can't help think
Do I belong
There's so many new people
And I just don't want to get wrong
Cuz three years go by
In the blink of an eye and
I just want it to stop
And though it's the awkward years of life
You'll soon find the ones that will be by your side
You hear all the parents complain
That all it did was cause them a lot of pain
And middle school is not for everyone
But hey, we made it through with a job well done
The first year goes by
In the blink of an eye
And I just want time to freeze
There's so little time
To hang out with your friends
And just like that your starting year three
And high school is just around the corner
But I don't want to get older
And though it's the awkward years of life
You'll soon find the ones that will be by your side
You hear all the parents complain
That all it did was cause them a lot of pain
And middle school is not for everyone
But hey, we made it through with a job well done
Let's bring it back now
Let's go back to year one, sixth grade, in 2018
I'll never forget what the first day meant to me
The year was pretty chill and we all had fun
So thankful for the time that I spent with everyone
Moving on year two, seventh grade was a mess
But I got to play sports with all my friends which was the best
First semester I finally turned 13
But nobody was ready for 2020
Covid hit and online school ruined our lives
We couldn't see our friends and we never said goodbye
The teachers did their best to teach us new things
But to be honest I do not remember anything
Finally year three, eighth grade it was strict
We all had wear masks because of Covid
It didn't really hit me until that last day
That we were all going our separate ways
But I'll never forget those memories
That middle school gave me and
Though it had its moments
It kinda was the best so
Thank you GMS for
Everything
