Let's Talk About Elvis

I was sitting at my favorite place
Next to me was an empty space
So he sat down and asked me for a dime
I think that I just started at him
Cause dimes aren't worth anything
And curiosity's filled my mind.
So I asked him why he needed a dime
And he told me that's my new pick up line
Then he had my attention
So I told him hey listen
I don't want to hear about your life

But we can talk about Elvis or rocket ships or places I've never been
Or why God Made birds that can't fly
Nothin deep like politics or your job relationships or my mom
I'm here to pretend cause the world just might end
And I need to turn off my mind
So let's talk about Elvis

He looked at me and we agreed
That life has no guarantees
So made a few rules of his own
Don't even slightly mention
What happened on your last date
Or be constantly looking at your phone
I said that won't be hard
My phone's in my car
And don't worry I totally agree
Then he asked me my name and said I hate playing games
But since I was born in Memphis Tennessee
