Phone Screen

I've seen pretty people shining brightly through my phone screen
But take one look closer and you'll see demons hiding back deep
Behind those fake smiles and cute captions they speak
They get so worried about what everybody else will think

But all of their "friends" will say such sweet things
When they have the chance behind their phone screens

Cuz they care about you and the things that you do
They comment "you're cute" on that picture of you
And everyone says nice things on their phone screens
But don't look any further and see what they really think

You might think their honest when they comment that they like your hair
But if they see you without makeup or a dress on they just stop and stare
And say mean things about you that you thought weren't true
But what the hell do I know I just hear about it all day at school

And I think it's rare to find people who care
When most of the time they just make fun and stare

And talk about you and how your dress isn't cute
And when they see you at school they snob and they snoot
But they are so nice behind their phone screens
But take them away and their two-faced and mean

But I think you know that you're not alone
Cuz it happens to just about everyone you know

That talk about you judging everything that you do
You think that they're rude? but you do it too
You might not believe in everything that you see
But don't get all upset when you do the same things

Talk about crude I see it all over you
With the things that you do yeah you hide the truth
And I think it's rare to find people who care
But that's just the way I guess that life is unfair

But what do I know it's never happened to me
But all those girls hide behind their phone screens
