The Crying City
The capital of the kingdom
Is this city
And there is no place any bug could claim
Is more pretty
The rain brings us peace
As we're down on our knees
The infection may reign
But we will never cease
The fading light called parts of this place
Her own
But a king arrived, claiming this place
His home
Her subjects were his
And all of them rejoiced
So to not be forgotten
The light, she had no choice
One by one, the people changed
To husks, they forgot what they knew
Everything they stood for was gone, gone, gone
If only this kingdom could be built anew
The crying city's wails
Reverberate
The light that showed them love
Showed them her hate
They turned their backs on her
Not many stayed by her side
It wasn't enough, those who tried
It isn't that she wanted
Them to die
She just wanted to be
Their light
To be forgotten
Was her greatest fear
And yet, now she is here
So one by one, the people changed
To husks, they forgot what they knew
Everything they stood for was gone, gone, gone
If only this kingdom could be built anew
The fading light called parts of this place
Her own
But a king arrived, claiming this place
His home
Her subjects were his
And all of them rejoiced
So to not be forgotten
The light, she had no choice
So one by one, the people changed
To husks, they forgot what they knew
Everything they stood for was gone, gone, gone
If only this kingdom could be built anew
