Silent Treatment

Why does there always seem to be
Families living in poverty
With no money or food, clean water to drink
But there's still so much waste and we don't even think

Oppression and recession claim lives each day
But you only worry if your child is gay
Real issues all around, but this is all they see
Can imagine the kind of person you raise your child to be

Why does it always have to be
Some rich man living in luxury
The poor men starve, but the rich only play
Will we all get a taste of greed some day

Here's a little story, sure you'll understand
"Woman found dead, at the hands of a man"
Do you see what's the problem, can you figure it out
Said - can you see what's the problem, have you figured it out

Cops will kill for a thrill and without a doubt
Are you still in denial of what Floyd's death was about
Protesting since the beginning of time
For basic human rights, now is that such a crime

Failed by the system, time to educate
Sing along with us and participate
Prejudice is not natural, and they are taught
Come on join the fight and listen to R.O.T

Why if we all know right from wrong
Do we really have to sit here and sing this song?
I'm sure you'd agree, without a doubt to share
Or is it all an act man, do you even care?
I said- is it all an act man, do you even care?
