It was just another day
As I went to get some water
Trying to avoid being seen
When this kind Jewish man
Asked a strange Samaritan daughter
For a drink from our father's well

Then I thought
Why would this man want anything from me
When I don't deserve to serve
My past disqualifies me

Don't You see that I'm not worth it
Don't You see the color of my skin
Don't You see I have no husband
Don't You see that I am broken
Don't You see that I've been tainted
Overlooked and I've been hated
My whole life discriminated

With compassion in His eyes
He offered living water
That would make me never thirst again
Though confused at first I knew
This was something very different
He knew all of who I am and He still stayed

Then I thought
How could this Man see any good in me
When I've failed and fallen so many times
There's no virtue left in me
Then He said
