Porch Life
When things get a little tough
I think about those salt life stickers on trucks
I wish I had one that said porch life
Because that's my idea of living right
Back where I come from
We were free range kids on 40 acres of fun
MawMaw's old wooden porch is where life came alive
Living in the moment was our favorite pastime
Church on Sunday then out to the country
Take me back to that porch in my hometown
Come on over... and sit on down
We're all together... the whole family's around
We got small town smarts and we're front porch wise
We got rocking chairs and peace of mind
We'll never run out of good times
You know momma raised us right
'Cause we're living that front porch life...
Oh-oh-oh...
Out at the pond cane pole fishing'
A cool breeze was our only air conditioning
We were earning some holes in our Tuf-Skin jeans
Mawmaw and Pawpaw were holding hands in the swing
All the cousins were watching some Midsouth wrestlin'
Uncle Joe was passing around some watermelon
Heard Dad say, "Well, don't wave you son of a...
The city must have taken all the fun out of ya"
Church on Sunday then out to the country
Take me back to that porch in my hometown
Come on over... and sit on down
We're all together... the whole family's around
We got small town smarts and we're front porch wise
We got rocking chairs and peace of mind
We'll never run out of good times
You know momma raised us right
'Cause we're living that front porch life...
Oh-oh-oh...
Yeah, that front porch is where I feel at home
It's where I learned right from wrong
Where I grew up, but still right where I belong
Church on Sunday then out to the country
Take me back to that porch in my hometown
Come on over... and sit on down
We're all together... the whole family's around
We got small town smarts and we're front porch wise
We got rocking chairs and peace of mind
We'll never run out of good times
You know momma raised us right
'Cause we're living that front porch life...
Oh-oh-oh...
Living that front porch life...
