Shallow Grave

A darkened disposition leading me astray
Enchanting lies catch hollow eyes
A fate you can't escape

This cold grasp isolates me where I lie
Leave me in this pain to drown
So far from six feet down

I'm left alone, just beneath the surface
No one can hear me now, so close, yet far away
On your pale horse, dig my shallow grave
For now, and forever, nothing left for me to save

One more time, I try to scratch the surface
I stand no chance against the overwhelming force
The soil chokes me, but I'm not so deep
Does it even matter?
This is where my soul will keep

Desolation flooding me
To think I haven't tried to be set free
Empty tombs surrounding me
To think I haven't bled for anything

Nameless graves are all I see
There's nobody left to hear me plead

Buried above the ones condemning me
I'll never leave, forever haunting in your sleep

Forever haunting in your sleep

Grab your shovel, pile it on
Lay the soil until I'm gone
Pound the nails into the oak
Snuff the air and pray I'll choke

This cold grasp isolates me where I lie
Leave me in this pain to drown
So far from six feet down

I'm left alone, just beneath the surface
No one can hear me now, so close, yet far away
On your pale horse, dig my shallow grave
For now, and forever, nothing left for me to save

I'm left alone, just beneath the surface
No one can hear me now, so close, yet far away
On your pale horse, dig my shallow grave
For now, and forever

You dug me this hole
You put me into this shallow grave
Forgiveness unknown
No room to breathe in this shallow grave
