That's something that always stuck with me
Like the fact that drug money bought your son these jeans
Nothing's free it seems except these hand me downs
Addiction runnin' deep in these genes that you handed down
It's tragic how people I sat around can't stand me now
I'm the black sheep, I can't seem to make my family proud
I was a bad student, no cap and gown
I always had music, never had a doubt
With my background, my Future wasn't Grammy bound
Like Pluto, I planet out; that's what God laughs about

My role models sold drugs like a pharmacy
It feels like I gotta keep a gun in the car with me
To be safe, just in case someone try to martyr me
As a teen I craved a method to release the pain
Obsession in my DNA, depression made me sleep for days
You could see the change reflected in my GPA
Blood and sweat mixed on my necklace and Adidas chain
I'll ink it on my flesh so the message can never be erased
From the second we were born, we were DOA
Get on my knees and pray and let the Lord lead the way
