Forever Endeavor

Sometimes another dollar isn't worth another day
If I'm not careful I might work it all away
What makes us think that that's okay?
So when they tell me that I've got to pay my way
I have to find the will to wander or to stay
How am I supposed to find my way?

If I could be water
I would spread myself out as far as I could reach and flow
I would just flow forever

Sometimes I hurry here sometimes I hurry there
But when I take a break I only sit and stare
Sometimes it's just too much too care
Sometimes the Sun is out behind a cloudy gray
Last night I found myself in a pouring rain
I heard the whistle of a passing train

If I could be water
I would spread myself out as far as I could reach and flow
I would just flow forever

One day I'm just a kid the next I'm turning gray
I look in the mirror I see someone else's face
Mirror, Mirror where's my face?
There's riches in the distance there's dangers on the way
I would take the lead if I could make the grade
Or maybe I'll just fade away

If I could be water
I would spread myself out as far as I could reach and flow
I would just flow forever
