Thankful for the Whisky

Some people spend their whole life, trying to find
The perfect drug to ease their pain, occupy their mind
Can't see the blessings, can't open eyes
Never finding the central theme, completing rhyme

For me its north country starry sky, no other light around
My Father's fishing pond, my sacred ground
The hands to play the voice to sing, friends who light the night
I'm thankful for the whisky, but i'm grateful for this life

Some never realize, they aren't blind
Just to occupied to see, that there is time to open eyes

For me it's brothers laughing & fire cracking, no other voice around
My Father's fishing pond, my sacred ground
The hands to play the voice to sing, friends who light the night
I'm thankful for the whisky, but i'm grateful for this life

Making choice, finding voice
Taking risk, unafraid
Breaking down, finding ground
In peace among the pieces

It's my Father's sacred ground
The hands to play the voice to sing, friends who light the night
I'm thankful for the whisky, but i'm grateful for this life
