Urban Rehearsal

Some days you rise and know that
It's going to be a hard day to make it
Like when the clock seems
To be moving in reverse
You pray for a break in
Painful monotony
'Seems like it can't be true
But maybe you've been cursed
But sometimes you rise and
Hear the morning dove
An omen of soothing
Comfort on the eyes
And for every act of hate
There is another of love that
We can all aspire to

For this world can be so very ugly
But it's filled with beauty all the same
There's a radiant world of wonder waiting
For you to join me and we'll be fine
I am a better man with you
You make me meet all of my goals
You give me cause to love myself
But not my virtues also my flaws

For they are the focus only you will see
Only you will not be so cruel
If I show you a part of me
Much loss to see, so much fewer
Times then when repairing my soul
But it's so hard to open up
My reticence is so revealing
But I can't fool you you're not corrupt
You are the answer to my prayers
I hope too, one day I'll take you there
