I Miss You

As we awaken, you and I
From the velvety blackness of slumber
Like two oxen yoked together
As we in tandem lie between messy sheets
Of rustled pillows and wrestled sleep
I lie and ache of impulses tethered to my
Flesh and blood, bone and dreams
I rise to the sun and dilate to it's cheerful
Visage meeting my heavy eyes
And my home begins to hurt

The sagging window frame hunches its shoulders above my bed, from which I
Listlessly loom under
The sagging blinds, adorned with
Paper ghost garlands
Squints its eyes into the corners of the
Bedroom, resting it's fine rays upon
Floating wisps of dust and webs
