Riverside

There is a street called Riverside
Filled with humble homes, cracks all in the road
And if you get the chance to go inside
You'll find their place of rest, even though it's not the best

None of their ceilings have chandeliers
Haven't laid a coat of paint in years
All of their carpets matted down
And as for money, they've run out

Riverside sat in a small town
Not much in the way of fun, unless you're 21
The movie theater had shut down
You'll find kids smoking pot in the high school parking lot

None of the people knew where to go
They call this rundown town home
They can't afford to leave this place
But all they want is a change of pace

A town so small word gets around
They'll whisper in their place, never say it to your face
Just a few feet from being drowned
They'll turn a nasty hue, explains why you're so blue

I never felt like I belonged
What everybody says is wrong
I knew that I was meant for more
There's a world to explore
I can't be satisfied if I never leave Riverside
Leave Riverside
