It was many years ago today
That I heard a wise woman say
It is time for another war for humankind
Not sure this is what she had in mind

She grew up in times of deprivation
When survival was the only motivation
Bombs were flying and hopes where dying
And trust gave way to cyclones of lying

When the war was over and done
And the last song of battle was sung
All dreams were destroyed
All shops where void
And the wreckage of a future ahead

They gave each other exactly what they needed

Yesterday our grandparents went to war
But now the war is coming to our door
Invisible and mean
No traces to be seen
Soon many of us could be dead

For most of us this is all so new
And we don't know what to don't and what to do
Never knew nothing but a life of plenty
Shelves were always full and stomachs never empty

It is bad and yes it is sad
But it's not the worst thing man has ever had
Sacrifices are high
But the end is always nigh
And we still have the future in our hands
