When the River Turns Red

When the sun has just rose up
We float from Wekiva Springs
And stroll into the turquoise blue
The cold water stings my feet
There's sharp river grass blades
They flash and shimmer green light
Swimming gars with large sharp teeth
Their scales speak out to me
Saying float down the river more
I pass gators on the shore
Their deep roars beckon us forth
Past the fallen palm fronds and trunks
Where the water depth sinks below
Into maroon clouds where none shall grow
Our burnt nose from mounds flesh
Rob our lungs of their breath
And we wont stop floating down
Until all we see is found (x2)
In my riparian paradise
Where we could hear the signs of life
In my riparian paradise
Where we could see the signs of life
When the river turns red
