Voices from the New Music

Music is the thing that keeps me alive
I must play music that is beyond this world
Beyond anything that I feel is safe
It is not danger alone that I seek

I don't know where this will take me
But should it frighten me,
Then I know better than to stop and to turn back
Because, as we travel further
We stop less for a place to rest
We search less for a place to settle
We are driven less by a dream of peace and harmony
We can find a divine harmony that is
Beyond what they used to call harmony

This is what we must search for
We youngblood's
We barers of the torch of certain traditions
Raised in the skies with a stream of our music

We can follow them as long as they will allow us
Sometimes meaning to look at the stars
But we both see them so differently now
To one of us they are more beautiful
To one of of us they are untouchable
To one of us they are a million miles apart
And only one of us will need to shield
Our eyes from a light so bright, we'll burn
Perhaps for now I will turn away too

But it is likely that we will meet less often after this
