I was walking my dog home and
I met two folks I did not know
it was one of those times where you can tell
from far away that you're
gonna have a conversation.

They just bought a new fifth,
the day of the week didn't matter to him

and he asked me where I lived

Must have given off
the wrong impression
when I said that it sounds like fun
to get fucked up
so I fucked up
and made a friend
that I didn't want

so I lied about
the location of my house
its not on principle
and I'm not proud
I just don't trust anyone

Then he asked me:
what are you doing on the 28th?
Like were such great friends
making me pretend
like we haven't just met
sorry busy, I gotta work late

And so we talked about,
the cost of living,
and its obvious now that
the fifth was for forgetting
