At Mirages' End
If our Illusions of Knowing are the primary differences
Between a state of darkness and that of infinity
Then the rescission of said illusions will reveal an unobstructed view of the infinite
This is easier said than done
As many of us have carried these illusions from before our earliest memories
As infants, our minds are perfectly open to the infinite
But with time and experience
We begin to infer the existence of limits over ourselves and our world
Some of these limits are disproven naturally
A child may believe they will never ride a bike without help
And yet, they are wrong far more often than not
However, many of these illusions we uphold are rarely challenged
Or if they are, we ignore the evidence against them
Reinforcing our inferences through reflexive rationalization
So how do we revoke these illusions?
Although demanding, the answer is rather simple
We do so by relinquishing our self-appointed monopoly on truth
And accepting that we may be wrong
Let us discuss this process using the following false knowledge
When one increases in wealth, they are happier
To "know" this is to believe that the universe is limited to outcomes
In which further happiness always accompanies financial growth
I recommend the following routine for eliminating this and all other limiting beliefs
Review the apparent knowledge in your mind
Actively work to realize it is possible to believe this idea as fervently as you do
In an infinite number of situations
Including a number of situations in which the idea is false
In our wealth example
One could inherit a large sum after the death of a dearly loved parent
The money providing no solace from their grief
Perhaps one may obtain riches amorally
And the delights of fortune may darken in the enduring guilt
Or, to eclipse them all, everything might go exactly right
You might gain wealth without the slightest trace of discomfort
Every rationale may demand that you should feel happy, and yet
You do not
These are only a few of the possibilities available in the infinite
To dispel the illusion, one must accept these and all other possibilities
As due to the paradox of limits
We will never know if any given situation is impossible
As you do so, the illusion will fail
And you will enjoy a glimpse of the infinite
Between a state of darkness and that of infinity
