Strawberry Delight

One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine.
We were counting all the memories we could find.
It was the time of innocence and wine.
We shared a love for independent life.

And the nights went on like days without a sun.
We were drinking for our freedom and for fun.
We were singing songs that no one ever sung
and fighting wars that hadn't yet begun.

And we were both too young and crazy to be saving our own lives.
We were so amazing! We were doing everything right.
And the world was still our oyster, we were changing everything
I can still remember how we'd laugh and dance and sing!

Rap-bap doobi-doo! Rap-bap doobi-doo wah!...

We talked about life, about feeling and of love.
Made poetry of everything above.
We'd listen to The Beatles and get high...
...on melodies and Strawberry Delight

And we were both so young and crazy. We would live from day to day.
And I can still remember as the band began to play!

Do you remember when we used to say: "We'll buy a house together
when we're old and grey"?
We'd sit there in the night, watching the sky.
Drinking wine and Strawberry Delight.

Well, we're older now. The years have come and gone
and the memories, they're all fading one by one.
What happened to our dreams and all our songs?
Or were they just illusions all along?

And now we're both too old and lazy to be saving our old lives
when we were so amazing. We were doing everything right.
And the world was still our oyster. We were changing everything.
Can you still remember how we'd laugh and dance and sing...

Rap-bap doobi-doo! Rap-bap doobi-doo wah!...
