The Empty-Handed Ones

Last night I got a little too wasted
Too many drinks while the music blasted
Today I woke up with an aching head
Next to a beauty guess that ain't so bad

I suppose that I will never learn
Can't behave until I see my world burn
Play with too many innocent hearts
And then leave as the empty-handed one

In the morning the ashtray's full again
Filled from long drunk conversations
Body's exhausted and slightly shaking
Drained and tired but I kinda like it

And today I'm gonna do it all over again
Set myself up for another losing game

I suppose that I will never learn
Can't behave until I see my world burn
Play with too many innocent hearts
And then leave as the empty-handed one

Happiness is best when it's shared
So we stay apart pretend not to care
But in fact I'd say that I need you close 'cause
Just like me you too need someone to hold

I suppose that we will never learn
Can't behave until we see our world burn
Play with too many innocent hearts
And then leave as the empty-handed ones
