The Songs of Waylon Todd III: Captain of the Sister Queen

For 35 days we've seen no wind or rain
The hunger and heat drive the sailors insane
The oceans and sky give no reprieve
To the weary crew of the Sister-Queen

A shipman calls down from the mainmast
"Captain Todd, I see clouds moving in fast!"
Within a few minutes, with a cooling sheen
The rain waters the deck of the Sister-Queen

But it's still a long way back
And will the strong winds last?
Can they carry us all the way back

It's a long way to go
And we're far from home
It's a long way back
We're under attack!

The sailor's respite is cut by cannon fire
As a massive ship sails up from the horizon
With a captain and a crew with a tale of evil deeds
And twice as many guns as the Sister-Queen

The drummer beats to battle stations
And the cannons roll into formation
Captain Waylon Todd, never one to flee
Draws his sword to defend the Sister-Queen

But it's a long way back
And they're closing in fast
How long will this battle last?
Load the chainshot and rip down their mast!
"Captain Todd! They're sinking fast!"

We're far from home
But everyone knows
Just look at the scene
You can't sink the Sister-Queen

Through the misty fog
Captain Waylon Todd
His sword blade gleams
Captain of the Sister-Queen
