Canvas

Say hello to this world
Who am I why am I
Ask this question cause it's so essential
So fundamental
I'm born a canvas I shape my identity
Construct it through infancy, into me
I am myself, I might need help
Guide me and shape me paint over my canvas
I see my arms, I see my legs
I see my hands, I see my feet
I have been born and the light it gets brighter

You don't understand certain things that you do plot
Whatever it is, give them a peace, and a blessed assurance
That everything is going to be alright

I am truly me, I am true as can be
Bathe inside the holy water bask in the tranquility
Myself as my body and myself as my ability
Came out of my mother's womb and celebrate fertility
Baby alive, I'm alive
I'm alive, I'm alive
I arrived, look me in the eyes
Carry me and cradle me and
Tell me I'll be fine
That I'm ready for this world
And that I will be alright
Got the sense, got awareness, got the physical touch
As I crawl around and look around I'm overwhelmed as much
And I gather information to make sense of what I see
In the process of distinguishing what is a part of me, and so
I crawl, I climb, I walk, I talk
I cry, I laugh, I smile, I'm off
I pick up on expressions, I pick up on the language
Sooner or later I'm speaking gibberish and speaking frenglish
Sooner or later I'm making progress and learning ropes
My parents happy I turned out as well as they had hoped
But this is only beginning we've yet to paint the canvas
I am the canvas, the world is the artist welcome the
Baby alive, I'm alive
I'm alive, I'm alive
I arrived, look me in the eyes
Carry me and cradle me and
Tell me I'll be fine
That I'm ready for this world
And that I will be alright, I'm the
Baby alive, I'm alive
I'm alive, I'm alive
I arrived, look me in the eyes
Carry me and cradle me and
Tell me I'll be fine
That I'm ready for this world
And that I will be alright, yeah
