Roundabout of the Mind
The roundabout of my mind
Has cars and trains all the time
The cars drive fast
And sometimes crash
And the train tracks don't seem to align
There's just so much traffic
And I don't mean to be dramatic
But way back then
When I was ten
So little to contend
And I wish it was like that again
Now there's people to spend
And there's money to please
It's hard to contend
Cuz man's will can be bent
And it shouldn't be this way
It shouldn't be this way
I saw it happen the other day
Has cars and trains all the time
The cars drive fast
And sometimes crash
And the train tracks don't seem to align
There's just so much traffic
And I don't mean to be dramatic
But way back then
When I was ten
So little to contend
And I wish it was like that again
Now there's people to spend
And there's money to please
It's hard to contend
Cuz man's will can be bent
And it shouldn't be this way
It shouldn't be this way
I saw it happen the other day
