After Party

Snow in the spring falling down
Raincoat bus ride
Though the year has just begun
Everyone's dead inside

It's so late and it's got so dark
Its like this is all you know
And the crowd gets a little too loud
You've gotta grab the first ride home

You won't find me at the after party
No I'd rather be in bed
With the TV on and the window open
With you next to me instead

All night clown charade
The world title fight is won
I grab my coat and go to leave
But a voice cries the party has only just begun

I said no please I've got places be
The next train is mine
It's been fun but I got to run
It's way past my bedtime

You won't find me at the after party
No I'd rather be in bed
With the TV on and the window open
With you next to me instead

Despite all that i still find myself
In the early hours waiting for the rain to dry
Sitting outside some place still off my face
Watching a rainbow cross the morning sky

And I sit there all alone
With the last drink off the shelf
As your name flashes on my phone
I think to myself

I don't want to be at the after party
No I'd rather be in bed
With the TV on and the window open
With you next to me instead
