I Know You're Watching...(Words to Momma)

I won't forget our special talks about family and love
And why it hurts far more than what romantics speak of
The ones closest to you usually hurt you the most
I guess a practice of forgiveness makes you strong I suppose
Walk in light
Spread love
Keep your spirit strong
In your darkest times you will never be alone
Trust Him only
Live life according to His will
While you're on this earth
You have a purpose to fulfill
Family first, al-ways love your sisters and brothers
Treat them all with respect before you consider others
Don't place hate on their names when you speak from your heart
You all are blessings to your mother and are gifts from God
I KNOW YOU'RE WATCHING

I hated telling her that year that I was getting divorced
I knew she would be so unhappy and disappointed of course
I had a little baby girl to whom I had to explain
For a chance to make her happy
I had to bring her pain
Mamma said you both will be fine
It will hurt for a while
But don't you ever try to separate that mother and child
You need to promise me one thing through all this stress and strife
You'll never ever turn your back on the one you gave life
Be a man always know what you reap you sow
A father's love is required for that child to grow
Have faith, trust God and prepare to move on
And make sure she calls you daddy when she's grown and on her own
I KNOW YOU'RE WATCHING

On that final week before the Lord called you home
All our hearts were heavy and our covers were blown
See nobody knew what we were going to do
Living our lives everyday on this earth without you
You took us one by one and gave us what we needed
Have faith, confidence and the will to proceed
For me there was a message straight from God I know
You stretched out your hands for a baby to hold
Some years have passed
And now she's twelve years old
Everyone she meets says she has an old soul
She's a light to all that sees full of life and more
And everybody says that child has been here before
I KNOW YOU'RE WATCHING
