When you try your best but you don't succeed
When you get what you want but not what you need
When you feel so tired but you can't sleep

Sacrificed everything but you still came up short
Why ain't you quit while you was ahead, mission abort
Sometime rejection's there to point you in the right direction
Just make sure you take that lesson to get to where you're destined
Everyday we're sketching a portrait of our life's journey
You're either working hard or hardly working at making it worthy
If you're scared to be something bigger than what you are
Cut yourself open, rip out your feelings like blunt cigars
Fill yourself up with ambition if that is what you missing
Or fill yourself up with some passion if that's what you lacking
Then roll it up and light a fire, up under your ass
You can fly higher when you learn from your past
