Does It Ever Get Easy

These thoughts play out
Woodwind sounds of a clarinet
Four voices in her mind
Perform its own quartet
Fantasizing on hoping
She would be Juliet
My poetry of love
Wasn't French enough
For our Lafayette
As we were fading out slower
I saw the whole vignette
Collected songs of our history
Like a box cassette
It's like it's WBA
The way she's boxing stress
I speak to you in tears
Coded text like it's a sms

It's not the easiest to manage
Harder ways of coping
Home Invasion of the heart
A reoccurring slogan
Not so hard to do a break in
When it's always open
Emotions processing the crime
Like it's in still in holding
Thawing out our issues
Spoiled too long from us being frozen
More of a buy out
Cause this merger wasn't interwoven
Distance gaining some muscle
I can see it bulking
Deciphering the what if's
Seeming thought provoking
Dressing up the pain like fondant
What's with the sugar coating
You know the truth is always hid
Inside the sight of joking
You never shower her tears
Until her sight is soaking
Rough days marry your pain
You see the nights eloping
Psychic intuition
I wish that I saw this all unfolding
So much of this water damage
Leads a soul to molding
Rock climbing out of my ego
I was steady bolting
Distant affairs seemed closer
I guess I'm telescoping
