Do you ever wonder why we do the things that we do?

We drink literal hot bean water every morning
Because it wakes us up
Before climbing into these strange contraptions
Called automobiles that transport us to a job
An occupation, where we spend about a third of our lives
Doing some sort of service that benefits and impacts the world
Like being a weather predictor
Or building chairs
Or making all kinds of fancy bean water
Then we go home to stare at these handheld devices
With screens for a few hours
Before lying down on these flat soft rectangles
To fall asleep as a means of recharging our bodies
To start the cycle all over again

And with all of these things happening around us, I wonder
Do you ever take the time to just do nothing?
Or are you too busy?
No music
No phone
Just sitting
Just simply being
I mean what's it all for?

Why do we enjoy moving our bodies in strange ways
Synchronized to the rhythm of a song?
Why do we wrap our arms around each other in an embrace?
To try to analyze the deeper meaning
Behind such things would be pointless
We do these things because they are beautiful
And beauty does not ask for logical explanations
It simply exists to be enjoyed
