Plains of Oblivion

I've been circling in these plains of oblivion
Sifting desert sands and seeking drops of the sun
Only God can tell me when I'm what I become
So I keep circling in these plains of oblivion
Heads rolling over and over again
Once you've figured it out, you no longer understand
Is it a wilderness out or a wilderness in?
Am I over the line or am I starting again?
Are there cycles on this plain of oblivion?
Are there lessons I ought learn for a time yet come?
Asking questions... look around, am I the only one
Tracing footsteps, on these plains of oblivion?
My heart's been busy working out there in the sun
Eighteen hour days til the evening's done
Holding keys only to doors you walked away from
Now my sorrows are here--wait and see what y'all become
Ha ha ha ha
There's a season called the plains of oblivion
Every season has a time underneath the sun
Find a reason for the pain that comes
While we're living on these plains of oblivion
Hands getting' dirty til the digging is done
One's goin' home... the other lays down in what was dug
The other I was... the one is who I become
Here I serve the Great I AM underneath the sun
Holy river gonna flood these plains
Holy river gonna flood these plains
Holy river gonna flood these plains
Holy river gonna flood these plains
Holy river gonna flood these plains
Holy river gonna flood these plains
Holy river gonna flood these plains
Flood these plains
