Growing Pains

All I love is growing old
There's places I now barely know
At times I want the world to stop
To figure out what I've still got

But every time I find my heart
It seems to slip away
Every day just goes so fast
And turns to yesterday
Oh the things I love will fall apart
And time blurs to a haze
The present into memories
Guess it's growing pains

My father knew just what to say
He lived in each and every day
Aware of all that came and went
Just loved and that was time well spent

And every time I find my heart
It's held in what he says
Time stood still in me
I wish that I could've stayed
But the moment passes just like that
Until it fades away
Reminded when he passed
To love in every way

I see it in my child's face
A look that I hope they'll embrace
They'll learn that everything will pass
And only things they do will last

And every time they find their heart
I hope they know to say
That life is not the same
And they'll have to find their way
Oh It's tough at first to find your feet
But once it's all it takes
Cause when the time arrives
They'll have their own growing pains
