Growing Pains

All I love is growing old
There's places I now barely know
At times I want the world to stop
To figure out what I've still got

But every time I find my heart
It seems to slip away
Every day just goes so fast
And turns to yesterday

The present into memories

My father knew just what to say
He lived in each and every day
Aware of all that came and went
Just loved and that was time well spent

Reminded when he passed
To love in every way

I see it in my child's face
A look that I hope they'll embrace
