Common Grounds: A New Musical
Stories and Vandalism
Once upon a time
In a land not far away
A land so close you knew it as Act 1
There was a girl, so jaded that by evening every day
She found herself more lonesome than when her day had just begun
Then, one day, she happened into someone who intrigued her
A boy whose prose was not monosyllabical
But he never told the endings
Which had made her very eager
To chat before he left Cafe Arabica-uhl
Well, every goodly story needs a conflict
If she was to talk to him, she had to strike
So of her possibilities, she hand-picked
A full tire deflating of his bike (POP! Fsss.)
Stories and vandalism every Tuesday night
Tonight, "Sally's Tragic Last Gold Rush"
The girl was sure she'd catch him
But alas, to his delight
It wasn't all that hard to run and push
Six days had come and gone
And on the seventh eve
The girl returned, quite sure that she would win
You see, she planned the whole week long what damage she'd achieve
Upon his bike outside while he was telling tales within
All she thought she wanted was to talk with him
But gradually, it grew to something more
Was it just obsession now?
The chance was very slim
That all this effort had no part ulterior
Well, every goodly story needs a villain
A one-on-one with him she must obtain
So while he was inside, she vandalized again
Let's see him move his bike, locked with this chain
Time for more stories and vandalism every Tuesday night
Tonight, "The Tale of Roger's Great Attack"
The girl was sure she'd catch him
But alas, to his delight
The cafe keeps these cutters in the back
Another week went by. Our villain boiled
She had to put an end to these ordeals
But then, she hatched a plan which couldn't be foiled
I'll just take one of his stupid wheels
Time for more stories and vandalism every night Tuesday
"The Story of the Phonographic Crime"(Kssh...)
The girl was sure she'd catch him
But had found he'd gotten away (Ugh!)
She'll never guess how I escaped this time
In a land not far away
