Ballad of the Trees

I was raised in a grove of trees
Wisdom old as the sun
Roots grown deep, tangled into one
To reach on and on

Thought I knew it all when I was young
That I'd never need to go out on my own
Oh the things that I believed
Believed when I was young

But just like time those feelings fade
And I moved on
Stumbled upon a new grove of trees
Roots not yet as deep

Thought that moving on would liberate a curse
Of not finding a grove good as the first
Oh the things that I believed
Believed that I was cursed

But all that wondering all alone
Led me to you
Finally the moment came
Found trees grown the same

Now I know it all that I have grown
That I'll never need to be all my own
Our roots grew deep, tangled into one
And we'll go on
