Viewpoint

Through another's eyes lives concealed reality.
Truth that starves without empathy.
Honesty only seen when apathy is consciously restrained.

When someone unlike you bleeds
Whose wounds bare witness to inequities
Why deny and cast it aside
All because it's not a pain you recognize?

The hardships you've had, yeah you've had them.
Advantage doesn't mean that life's not hard.
What it means are the means to relieve the strain
Don't take some equally as far.

We're all a piece in a corrupted system
And it's obvious it stains.
Once we admit it we can remit it
And work to rid the roots of unjust pain.

Peering through another's eyes could mean a better way!

Listening to others is kindness.
Seeing from their viewpoint is faith.
Dismantling your baggage is progress.
Not trying? That's spitting in their face.
