Flyover States

Going west from Tennessee
Back to the place that I was born
I've got strangers sitting next to me
Small talk with my neighbor
About the cities that we lived in
And the places we would love to see

There's nothing wrong with those flyover
States that I call home
They don't look like much from up above
But at least I knew where I belong
Nothing wrong with those flyover
States we pass through
You can't tell it from way up here but
It's like those country songs you sing to

Walking out the airport and I see that old Silverado it still looks brand new
I jump into the cab and greet my old man
He was waiting for me now we're off to see the family

There's nothing wrong with those flyover
States That I call home
They don't look like much from up above
But at least I knew where I belong
Nothing wrong with those flyover
States we pass through
You can't tell it from way up here but
It's like those country songs you sing to

Gathered around the table now
We're telling stories about the days when we were younger
Half the time we would be out in the summer's heat that's where the fun began

There's nothing wrong with those flyover
States That I call home
They don't look like much from up above
But at least I knew where I belong
Nothing wrong with those flyover
States we pass through
You can't tell it from way up here but
It's like those country songs you sing to

The states I still call
Back where I had it all
The place I'll always call Home
