AFFIRMATIONS

I'm proud of you, 'bout to do everything that you had vowed to do

I do not rap, I just so happen to write stories that rhyme
I do not cap, ain't lyin' when I am explorin' my life

I'm less of a preacher more of a mirror
Bouncin' reflection for people to start seein' them demons and evil creatures clearer

But I'm far from perfect
I'm deeper than my surface
I struggle with my purpose
And I am always nervous when

Observing encouragement
Durin' my worryin'
Got my girl reassurin' me
'Cuz my thoughts are discouragin', uh

I need help with my confidence
My doubt feelin' so bottomless
Ain't been to a psychiatrist
'Cuz all the homies dyin' quick

Back to better days
That can elevate
My depressive state
So I meditate

I'm finally findin' how I can phrase my affirmations
And I'm finally findin' ways that can help me applicate them

It's all about making good habits
And never ignorin' the sadness
And workin' to be above average
And findin' a healthier balance

I done lost some friends because I started trustin' 'em
Openin' my heart to find they done corrupted it
Reevaluatin' leadin' to confrontin' 'em
Findin' out the whole time they was hustlin'

With my life, enticin' vibrant light and
Widen my horizon, heighten my
Enlightenment, I am frightened by politeness,
Shyness, and my likeness deep inside me

In my desired environment
No required retirement
Keep on writin' inspirin'
Words unitin' misguided

Entire divided communities who choose to be
Foolishly clueless and full of confusions communally

It's hard to be accepting when I'm feelin' the rejection
Or findin' a connection when I'm seein' imperfection
It's hard to show expressions when I'm deep in my depression
But I should start confessin' when I stare at my reflection
