The Shadows

The five of us walk inside the jungle
The couple lead followed by the egg
You won't believe what we found in the rubble
Looks like an old nasty grave

And we dug, scratched, and picked at the dirt
Until we saw something new, or we got a little hurt
There was a heavy stone lid
We struggled to get open
When we got it off
We knew the world was broken

Yeah, inside was the queen of the jungle
Her eyes were open and piercing red
Her magic was rad and a little bit fungal
She used it on us and put us to bed

So we slept, dreamt and felt a little open
'Cause when we all got up our vocal cords were broken
We lifted up our hands and began to oblige
Because the magic came out for a ride

She came to me
And this is what she said

You've got a lot to take in kids
I think that you can handle it
But let's try not to pretend

There is a lot of rules
Do you think you can follow them
You're in charge of the world
So you can't abolish them

So we sat down and got so attentive
As we lay in the dirt and read the directive
Felt so good to read, it put it all in perspective
But when I tried my first spell it was so in effective
The queen jumped, and began to rise
All five of us thought we would go for a ride
But she bent down and to our surprise
The whole plan for her
Was for us to die

She came to me
And this is what she said
