Sierra

Sierra loved the streams and all that came flowing her way
The breeze and greens too
She loved the songs of all the birds that lay Spring in her ears
The leaves that sang too

Upon her many walks of wonder out into the wild
Sierra pondered a change
But there was nothing there on the path that she would tread
That ever stood strange
Despite all of the roads she had wandered
Her journey had only begun

So let's sing a song for Sierra
Whose eyes are the colour of the day
And let's send her some words that might give her some comfort
And sooth her as she finds the way

Ah-ah-ah
Ah-ah-ah
Ah-ah-ah-ah
Ah-ah-ah

Sierra wanted to listen but she couldn't care less
For the others who whined
"Take off the dress you imbecile, you're a man not a wife
And no son of mine"

But Sierra was gone now, away in the fields
Embracing her song
Her destiny, you could say, well it had been fulfilled
A place the sour don't know
And cause all that was left for Sierra was
To live and fly high in her sky

So let's sing a song for Sierra
Whose eyes are the colours of life
And let's send her some words that assure her that she's enough
Exactly the way that she is

So let's sing a song for Sierra
Whose eyes are the colours of life
And let's send her some words that might give her some comfort

'Cause Sierra's okay, and Sierra's alright
And all that she is, is in her palm held tight
'Cause Sierra wasn't anyone but she
All along

Look to your sleeve, my love, and remember
You're always who you are
