Dehydration

Write a sonnet for me on why I should even stay
When your instincts told you to take her hand and run the other way
Now my momma told me that you were gonna be no good
My ears were filled with by the technicolor lie that I misunderstood

Where did my poetry go? Flowers and old jewelry oh
I called you out last night; you smite me with your definition of love
Smoke fills your night every time you say you can't
Remember why you smell of cherries and white wine

Don't make me cry
Don't make me cry
You said your life with me was vacation
But since you left was a victim now a patient
I really tried
But you're not worth the dehydration

Now your mama called me bout two weeks in
Asked me how I'm coping without her sinner of a son
I told her I'm living life, without my back on your knife
Do you even regret that night

Don't make me cry
Don't make me cry
You said your life with me was vacation
But since you left was a victim now a patient
I really tried
But you're not worth the dehydration

(♫)

Cry baby cry (cry, cry, cry)
Cry baby cry (cry, cry, cry)
My heart revived
You're gonna die alone

Don't make me cry (cry, cry, cry)
Don't make me cry (cry, cry, cry)
Hopped off the train to her station
I'm happy now I am rid of your frustration
Now I watch you cry
