How Birds Sigh

If only, if only, the young birdy sighs
Humans had wings, and could take to the skies
Being tethered to the ground is a sad way to die
Poor humans do it
The thought makes me cry

Us humans say fuck, we look up and away
We think that the skies where we'll end up some day
We got no way to prove it, it's just what we say
We lie in the ground
We rot and decay

Birds fly everywhere
They live pure and true
We keep tryin' to join them
So we can fly too

Us humans say shit as we look straight ahead
We look at the earth and wonder how we're not dead
We're not going around with remorse or dread
If the earth was a human
We'd have chopped off it's head

Us birds say "chirp chirp" as we flew with a dove
Up in the air the wind fits like a glove
We know all that matters is to share all your love
Don't look to the sky
There's nothing above

If only, if only, us poor humans cry
We could grow wings and take to the sky's
We're tethered to the ground, and still tryin' a fly
Some of us can't do it
The thought makes me sigh
