West Wind

The journey starts outside his front door
He's got no idea what anybody's fighting for anymore
One man's struggles seem to be another man's gold
A message to deliver, no one near to console

He must establish exactly what he wants to be
He doesn't have the privilege of having an intact family tree
And that instilled a fear that feels like chills under his skin
Feels like he's fighting, fighting the west wind

Halfway through the journey, his shoes are torn
Barefoot on the concrete but he's not even sore
Doesn't ask for help because it seems like a chore
With this ongoing war, everybody's gonna fight for more

Takes a breather wondering what's around the bend
He's the messenger without knowing the message within
Even the easiest jobs make his head spin
Can't escape that feeling, that feeling of the west wind
