Endless Oceans

The oceans are so much wider than you could ever imagine
The sun and the moon set and rise, day after day, yet nothing changes
You rock back and forth over each and every wave, yet it's all the same

What's waiting for me at the bottom?
Dark emptiness or something greater?
Do the waves that call me down hide treasures for the mind?
Maybe these treasures are worth seeking, diving into the dark
Abandoning the sun, the moon, and the stars

The shore may be moments away, or it might be years
But something beckons me from the deep, it's dragging me under
I know not of its name, nor have I ever seen its face
Malevolent siren of the deep, or the Angel I've been waiting for?

It's dragging me under
