Crooked Smile

I referenced the wrong roach
In our previous conversation
But I promise to keep your interest afloat
With my life and worthless self-education

But the stairs to my house have a crooked smile
And chipped teeth decorate his hollow grin
Just ascending so we can sit for a while
Just talking and laughing with my newest friend

The ceiling descended like molasses
As we held each other into the night
I took the time to remove my glasses
Breathing in, this lucid gleaming sight

Cause the stairs to my house have a crooked smile
Chipped teeth decorate his hollow grin
Just ascending so we can be for a while
Just coughing and crying with my best friend

Unconscious but awake
Not waiting to be saved
Seven fingers are wrapped around my lungs today
But life is absurd in every way
I wish you could see what I saw today

Cause the stairs to my house have a crooked smile
Chipped teeth decorate his hollow grin
Just ascending so we could exist for a while
Just taking and crying with my only friend
