Eutychus (Acts 20)
The Apostle Paul, in Acts chapter twenty
Was preaching the Gospel in the city of Troas
It is a port town in modern day Turkey
Daily teaching and by then, seven days had past
He taught for a long time, for tomorrow he'd be leaving
The crowd in the upper room was listening by lamp light
Paul gave them the Word of God, they were gladly receiving
The talk went on and on, all the way 'til midnight
And that is when
All of the trouble began
Eutychus fell out the window
Eutychus fell out the window
Eutychus fell out the window
Then... he rose again
Who was this Eutychus?
A young man in his upper teens
The sermon went so long
That he had up and fell asleep
No one extraordinary, as far as we can tell
We know nothing else of him
Except that he fell
The first ones on the scene
Approached with dread
After inspecting him
They pronounced him dead
Because...
Eutychus fell out the window
Eutychus fell out the window
Eutychus fell out the window
Then... he rose again
Paul seeing what had happened
Left the room and headed down
He came over to the place where poor Eutychus had hit the ground
Paul grabbed the body of the boy, and held it tight
He turned to the people and said
Don't worry... He is a-live!
Paul, the people ... and Eutychus
Went upstairs and broke some bread
Paul taught them til daybreak
And the people were comforted
The power of Jesus had been shown again
Because...
Eutychus fell out the window
Eutychus fell out the window
Eutychus fell out the window
Then... he rose again
He fell out the window
He fell out the window
Then... He rose again!
