Library

It gets lonely in this corner of my library
Waiting for the girl that I marry
Maybe it's a Mary or
Maybe she's Sarah N. Dipitty
Either way the suspense is brutally killing me
"You gotta be kidding me."
Hard to maintain anonymity
When
You're alone in this industry
I got no energy to even give myself some inner peace
So I sit between the books and magazines
An average read

Dust on my spine
Lust in my eyes
Pages turn but the words blur into these lines
I don't really the got the time
No clocks
Hands shaking when I chime
I've been yelling out for help but it's fallen on the deaf and blind
You can see why I'm in a bind
I've been too focused on the waves now I'm living on the island time
There's no windows so the sun don't shine
On this side of mine
I'm pretending that I'm more than fine
I'm mortified
