mind's eye

We don't read and write poetry because it's cute
We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race
And the human race is filled with passion

The fires are calming down
And the deep sea has stopped its roaring
We'll no longer drown
The wind power has gone to sleep
And the shepherd protects his sheep

Sitting on the porch at nine in the morning
Soft snow falling from the light gray sky
Deep breath in and then a deep breath out
Tranquil feelings from my mind's eye
Silence like a blanket, covering the field
Trees of spirit watching hawks fly by
Deep breath in and then a deep breath out
Tranquil feelings from my mind's eye

From my mind's eye

Yeah
