War Child

War Child
Kids are playing in an dirty aisle
Lost the common fears for a while
Dust and grit keeps dropping silent down
Nothing left from confidence and home
Bombs and soldiers are gone away
But fear and hunger are gonna stay

Now the times of childhood have been died
And the future is an empty site
Ohhh from one snatch to another
Taken from father to a soldier
Taken from a son to an orphan
When will people understand ohhh ohhh

A distant ship smoke on it's route
Far away it is called quietude
It's passing by although I wave my hands
Is this the time - where it ends?

The cycle of the sun finds it's end
A slight breeze strokes over the land
Rumbling sounds a stone's throw away
Another long night relieves the day
Will there be the sun after the dark
The hourglass keeps on its mark

A distant ship smoke on it's route
Far away it is called quietude
It's passing by although I wave my hands
Is this the time - where it ends?
