Let It Go

I can't stop trying to create some story
From all the bits and pieces which keep coming my way
Putting things in order, looking for some focus
But all the time, the time's still ticking away
The more I push the bits together, the more they fall apart
When I just aim up at the ending
I just end up at the start
Let it go, let it go, let it go, let it go

Looking for a straight line to take me forwards
Trying to find the best way to make my way
Staring out the window, looking at the future
But all the time, the time's still ticking away
The more I push the bits together, the more they fall apart
When I just aim up at the ending
I just end up at the start
Let it go, let it go, let it go, let it go

I mean that's not to say you shouldn't try
To exert some influence over your life
I've made a few u-turns in mine, which worked out fine
Probably best though to let the small stuff look after itself
No point tying yourself in knots over the minor details
Save the interventions for when it really matters
For when you've really had enough
For such times as when the only thing acceptable
Is a completely... new... path
Let it go, let it go, let it go, let it go
