It Is What It Is

I sometimes spill ketchup on my favorite clothes
And I sometimes forget the words to all the songs I wrote
I almost always have something in my teeth
It's probably spinach

I sometimes tuck my shirt into my underwear
And when I'm around little kids I always seem to swear
If I order food and the server says "enjoy your meal" I'll say "you too"

I've done and do some many things
Like clumsy moves or one night flings
And tell myself when something's got to give
It is what it is
It is what it is

I sometimes call my own close friends by the wrong name
And I have tripped on air so many times I don't feel shame
I've waved at someone waving at me but not actually
They were waving at a person adjacent to my position

I pretty much bump into people everyday
And my boyfriend of seven years just realized he was gay
I used to wear my sandals with sock
Calf-length all the way

I've done and do so many things
Like clumsy moves or one night flings
And tell myself when something's got to give
It is what it is
It is what it is
It is what it is
It is what it is
